Median is a line which is drawn from a vertex to the mid point of the opposite side of a triangle. Given, Triangle ABC with AD as a median BD = DC To prove that, triangle ADB congruent triangle ADC Proof, In triangle ADB & triangle ADC AD = AD (common) angle ADB = angle ADC (90 degree each) BD = DC (given) Therefore, Triangle ADB congruent triangle ADC (by SAS rule) Congruent triangles are equal in area. --->ar(triangle ADB)= ar(triangle ADC) Hence, Proved
