Through HVZ reaction , chloroacetic acid ( ClCH2COOH ) can be prepared and next adding some ammonia solution to the product yields glycine , Note that it is only the inorganic way for conversion of acetic acid to glycine , while in reality , glycine is synthesised in our body by organic reactions ClCH2COOH + 2 NH3 → H2NCH2COOH + NH4Cl
