In aerobic respiration Glucose. + Pyruvate - water + carbon dioxide + 38 atp In anaerobic respiration Glucose _glycolysis(in cytoplasm ) pyruvate - C2H5OH +co2 + 2 atp In aerobic respiration 1 molecule of glucose is breakdown in pyruvic acid 2 molecules by glycolysis ( in cytoplasm) then a lot of energy is released with CO2 and H2O. Energy is stored in mitochondria of the cell whereas in anaerobic respiration 1 molecule of glucose is breakdown into pyruvate 2 molecules in absence of O2 ( muscle tissue) or yeast ( an organism) gives ethanol Co2 and atp. In muscles lactic acid is formed which causes cramps. It is stored in muscle tissues in human body
