Chapter no. 1- real numbers Q) Show that the square of an odd integer is of the form 4q+1 for some integer q. Ans) let X be any odd integer.Then, x = 2m+1,for some integer m. So x=(2m+1)^2 =4m^2+4+1=4q+1, for some integer q= m^2+m. Doubt- in this answer, why did we take x= 2m+1 instead of 4q+1 ?
