carbon does not form ionic compound because •most carbon compounds are poor conductors of electricity •the forces of attraction between the molecules are not very strong

Because it have 4 element in valency so it can't take 4 element and also it can't give 4 element so it doesn't form ionic compound

Since it has 4 electrons in its outermost shell So it can neither lose nor gain 4 electron to complete its shell As a large amount of energy will be needed for this purpose
