If Hydrogen peroxide is not stored in plain (colorless) bottles then light will pass through in and decomposes Hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. 2H₂O₂ + hᵞ (light) → 2 H₂O + O₂ In order to avoid this decomposition it was stored in colored bottles.
