Because when Mrs. Slater said that no doctor had been near her father when he was dying, Mrs. Jordan asked if she had called for one Mrs. Slater said that she called doctor prinkle who always attended on her father, but he was out. So no doctor was called. Hence, Mrs. Jordan said that it was the fatal mistake made by Mrs. Slater because he father died ultimately for want of doctor. The irony is that the sister really wants their father to be died.??

Irony is that though she blames on mrs. Slater and tells that its a fatal mistake,but actually she just told this to show that she is sad about grandpa's death. Moreover she wanted to get hi property
