As the aim of anti-biotics is to target the metabolic pathway of the bacteria or any other organism , which have their own metabolism.but , when we talk about viruses ,they do not have metabolism,infact they are recognized as border line organism, so their is no any aim of the anti-biotics in viruses and hence anti-biotics don't work over viruses.
