Ozymandias ,the great king of Egypt ,gets his statue made in order to immortalise himself.he expects that his name will live till posterity. But time plays havoc with his statue. The statue lies broken and disfigured and is surrounded by a barren desert. His expectation is belied and thus the whole situation is ironical.
