The irony in the poem is brought about by the message that the poem gives to the readers. The memorial or the huge statue was erected to oveawe and domazzle the prosperity. it displays the power, glory and grandeur of king Ozymandias but what is the result? the statue that was to perpetuate Ozymandias memory lies broken into pieces on the sand in a desert. Nothing has remained expect the boundless and bare sand stretching all around.
