Helen keller was born on June27,1880 in Tuscumbia in Albama . she belonged to a family with long, chequered history. she was a lively, curious and self asserting child. she felt to ease in her rose-bower of her house. she was just six months old when she uttered the words " How d' ye and then surprised everyone by saying " tea , tea ,tea ." Unfortunately, an illeness rendered her blind and deaf when she was nineteen months old. But that did not diminish her vigour and zest for life . She evolved her own signs to communicate with others . she learnt many small things like folding and putting away the clean clothes coming from laundary , greeting the guests, playing with Martha, a little coloured girl, and her pet dog Belle.
