There are two types of poverty one is absolute poverty and another is relative poverty. In very simple language absolute poverty means people below BPL ( below poverty line ) and relative poverty means people relatively poor than others but relative poor people may or may not be below poverty line.

Absolute poverty and relative poverty Absolute poverty refers when a person earn above 50000 then he is APL otherwise BPL And relative poverty refers the relation btwn countries, States to differ poverty.
