Ans. Half of the male gametes (sperms) carry X chromosomes and other half carry Y chromosomes. All the female gametes carry only X chromosome. When a sperm fertilizes an egg. The following situations become possible.
(1)When a sperm carrying X chromosome fertilizes an egg (that controls only X chromosome). The resulting zygote develops into female (XX condition).
(2) When a sperm carrying Y chromosome fertilize an egg (that contains only X chromosome), the resulting zygote develops into a male (XY condition).
Thus the *** of the children is determined by what they inherit from their father and not the mother.
Thus the *** of a new born child is a matter of change.
