UP Board Class 9 English Syllabus and Format

The question paper for UP Board Class 9 English will be of 70 marks. The rest of the 30 marks will be awarded in Internal Assessment. There are four sections: Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Literature for UP Board class 9 English. 

The Reading Section will have two passages based on which MCQs and short-type questions will be asked. It will be of 10 marks.

The Writing Section in which 10 marks will be awarded will test students' creative writing in the form of a letter, applications, descriptive paragraph, report, article, etc. 

The Grammar Section will have 15 marks and the following will be part of it:

• Five MCQs based on parts of speech, tenses, articles, reordering of sentences, and spellings.
• Three very short answer type questions based on narration, voice, and punctuation.
• Translation of a short passage from Hindi to English

The Literature section for class 9 English of UP Board will have 35 marks, it is the highest of all sections. It comprises the prose and poetry sections having 15 marks and 8 marks respectively. For more details, check our dashboard which is regularly updated.
