This year CBSE issued Grades at the place of Marks. The newly introduced CBSE Grading System in class 9 and class 10 is actually a nine point scale grading system. We at <a href=\"file:\/\/\/D:\/Dropbox\/myCBSEguide\/Blog%20Posts\/harsh\/mycbseguide.com\">myCBSEguide.com<\/a> have posted more articles on newly adopted Grading system and CGPA to get a broad idea about it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8222 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mycbseguide.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/cbse_grading.jpg\" alt=\"Grading System\" width=\"640\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mycbseguide.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/cbse_grading.jpg 640w, https:\/\/mycbseguide.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/cbse_grading-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The grades are provided as below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A1 &#8211;&gt; for 91 to 100 marks ( grade point is 10)<br \/>\n2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A2 &#8211;&gt; for 81 to 90 marks\u00a0 ( grade point is 9)<br \/>\n3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 B1 &#8211;&gt; for 71 to 80 marks\u00a0 ( grade point is 8 )<br \/>\n4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 B2 &#8211;&gt; for 61 to 70 marks\u00a0 ( grade point is 7)<br \/>\n5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 C1 &#8211;&gt; for 51 to 60 marks\u00a0 ( grade point is 6)<br \/>\n6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 C2 &#8211;&gt; for 41 to 50 marks\u00a0 ( grade point is 5)<br \/>\n7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 D &#8211;&gt; for 33 to 40 marks\u00a0 ( grade point is 4)<br \/>\n8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 E1 &#8211;&gt; for 21 to 32 marks\u00a0 ( no grade point)<br \/>\n9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 E2 &#8211;&gt; for 00 to 20 marks\u00a0 ( no grade point)<\/p>\n<p>9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 E2 \u2013&gt; for 00 to 20 marks\u00a0 ( no grade point)<\/p>\n<p>Here A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D, E1 and E2 are called grades.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: There is no any grade point provided for grade E1 and E2.<\/p>\n<p>Individual grades and grade points will be given for each subject. Students will also get overall grade point for five subjects. This overall grade point is called CGPA (cumulative grade point average) and it can be used to calculate estimated overall percentage of marks obtained by the student.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calculation of Percentage for one subject : Grade Point X 9.5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Example : suppose a student get B1 in Hindi and his grade point is 8. Now his estimated percentage in Hindi will be 8 X 9.5 = 76 percent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calculation of overall percentage : CGPA X 9.5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Example : suppose\u00a0 CGPA (printed on grade sheet) is 7.8. Now his\/her estimated overall percentage will be 7.8 X 9.5 = 74.1 percent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note : Abbreviations used against Result :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>QUAL &#8211; Eligible for Qualifying Certificate,<br \/>\nEIOP &#8211; Eligible for Improvement of Performance,<br \/>\nNIOP &#8211; Not Eligible for Improvement of Performance,<br \/>\nXXXX &#8211; Upgradation of Performance\/Additional Subject<br \/>\nN.E. &#8211; Not Eligible,<br \/>\nR.W. &#8211; Result Withheld,<br \/>\nR.L. &#8211; Result Later,<br \/>\nUFM \u2013 Unfair means,<br \/>\nSJD &#8211; Subjudice?<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>The Grading System can have\u00a0the\u00a0following advantages:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>It will minimize misclassification of students on the basis of\u00a0marks obtained.<br \/>\n2. It will eliminate unhealthy cut-throat competition\u00a0among high achievers.<\/li>\n<li>It will reduce societal pressure and will provide the learner with more flexibility.<\/li>\n<li>It will lead to a focus on a better learning environment.<\/li>\n<li>It also takes care of imperfection of tools used for assessment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Beside all these we can\u2019t deny the disadvantages of Grading System to avoid any mislead to the students.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Disadvantages of Grading System in schools<\/h3>\n<p>1.It is quite discouraging for the meritorious students.<\/p>\n<p>2.
