A triangle has three sides, three angles and three vertices.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Congruent figures<\/strong> &#8211; Congruent means equal in all respects or figures whose shapes and sizes both are\u00a0\u00a0same. For example, two circles of the same radii are congruent. For example <span class=\"cke_widget_wrapper cke_widget_inline cke_widget_selected\"><span class=\"math-tex cke_widget_element\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elpiscart.com\/cgi-bin\/mathtex.cgi?\\Delta ABC\" \/><\/span><\/span>\u00a0shown below is an isosceles triangle with AB=AC.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media-mycbseguide.s3.amazonaws.com\/images\/static\/revise\/09\/math\/09_math_ch07_05.jpg\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>Scalene Triangle <\/strong>&#8211; A triangle, no two of whose sides are equal, is called scalene triangle.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Equilateral Triangle <\/strong>&#8211; A triangle whose all sides are equal, is calle an equilateral triangle.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Right angled triangle <\/strong>&#8211; A triangle with one right angle is called a right angled triangle.<\/li>\n<li>The sum of all the angles of a triangle is 180<sup>o<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<li>If a side of a triangle is produced, the exterior angle so formed is equal to the sum of two interior opposite angles.<\/li>\n<li>Angle opposite to equal sides of a triangle are equal.<\/li>\n<li>Sides opposite to equal angles of a triangle are equal.<\/li>\n<li>Each angle of an equilateral triangle is <span class=\"cke_widget_wrapper cke_widget_inline cke_widget_selected\"><span class=\"math-tex cke_widget_element\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elpiscart.com\/cgi-bin\/mathtex.cgi?{60^o}\" \/><\/span><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>If the altitude from one vertex of a triangle bisects the base, then the triangle is isosceles triangle.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SSS congruence Rule <\/strong>&#8211; If three sides of one triangle are equal to the three sides of another triangle then the two triangles are congruent for example <span class=\"cke_widget_wrapper cke_widget_inline cke_widget_selected\"><span class=\"math-tex cke_widget_element\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elpiscart.com\/cgi-bin\/mathtex.cgi?\\Delta ABC\\;and\\;\\Delta DEF\" \/><\/span><\/span>\u00a0as shown in the figure satisfy SSS congruence criterion.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media-mycbseguide.s3.amazonaws.com\/images\/static\/revise\/09\/math\/09_math_ch07_06.jpg\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>RHS Congruence Rule <\/strong>&#8211; If in two right triangles the hypotenuse and one side of one triangle are equal to the hypotenuse and one side of the other triangle then the two triangle are congruent.
