Mr. Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi has been appointed as new chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. He is\u00a01987- batch IAS officer for MP cadre. He\u00a0has been appointed for a period of five years.\u00a0The post of CBSE Chairman had been lying vacant since\u00a0December 2014.<\/p>\n
As on today, there are around 18000 schools affiliated to CBSE in India and abroad. Out of which more than 200 schools are located in 23 countries. CBSE not only conducts school board exams but it is responsible to take many competitive exams such as CTET, JEE mains, NEET, UGC-NET etc.<\/p>\n
Besides conducting exams, CBSE carries many\u00a0research and development activities in the field of education. It \u00a0defines appropriate approaches of academic activities to provide stress free, child centred and holistic education to all children without compromising on quality and\u00a0analyse and monitor the quality of academic activities by collecting the feedback from different stakeholders.<\/p>\n
CBSE is also involved in developing\u00a0norms for implementation of various academic activities including quality issues; to control and coordinate the implementation of various academic and training programmes of the Board; to organize academic activities and to supervise other agencies involved in the process.<\/p>\n
