CBSE has issued a circular that from the academic session 2011-12, Unit 5 of the Social Science syllabus on Disaster Management for Class IX will be evaluated only through projects and assignments.<\/p>\n

No questions will be asked from this unit in the\u00a0 theory paper of Social Science in Summative Assessments 1 and 2 to be conducted by\u00a0 schools from the academic year 2011-12 and onwards.<\/p>\n

The students will be required to take up project work and assignments compulsorily in Disaster Management. Please refer to the Board\u2019s publication on Formative Assessment Manual for Teachers in Social Science, Class IX for topics and themes for project work and assignments in Disaster Management. Further guidelines for\u00a0 Formative Assessment on Disaster Management will be communicated to the schools shortly. The revised distribution of marks over other units of Social Science syllabus will be as follows :<\/p>\n
