The first phase (pre exam) of CBSE counseling will begin from the 1st of Feb and will continue upto 13th April, 2011. This is the 14th consecutive year that CBSE will be providing counseling services to students and parents during the entire period of examinations to overcome anxiety and examination related stress.<\/p>\n

The CBSE counseling is an outreach programme which is carefully designed keeping the heterogeneity of students\u2019 population and geographical spread.\u00a0 Multiple modes of communication such as telephonic counseling, Question Answers columns in news papers, Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) and online counseling through CBSE website are used to reach out to more and more examinees during this phase.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0 CBSE TELE COUNSELLING <\/strong><\/p>\n

CBSE started this pioneering community work 14 years back in 1998 for the first time. The highlights of CBSE Tele-counselling are:<\/p>\n

(i) It is offered by trained counselors and Principals from within CBSE affiliated schools located in and outside India.
\n(ii) It is a voluntary, free of cost service provided by the participants.<\/p>\n

This year 49 Principals, trained counselors from CBSE affiliated government and private schools and few psychologist will participate in Tele-Counseling and address exam related psychological problems of the students.\u00a0 44 of them are available in India while 4 are located in Dubai, Doha Qatar, Kuwait and for the first time one new centre is located in Japan.<\/p>\n

Centralized Toll Free Access in India <\/strong><\/p>\n

Students can dial a toll free number 1800 11 7002 from any part of the country which will give centralized access to CBSE helpline.\u00a0 While the general queries will be answered by the operators, students will be connected to the principals or counselors in case of exam related anxiety or stress.<\/p>\n

Counselling for Specially Abled Children <\/strong><\/p>\n

For the third year CBSE has arranged to provide counseling to specially abled children to take care of the needs and anxiety of special children.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 IVRS: <\/strong><\/p>\n

First to be introduced by any Board of Education in the country, CBSE has made a unique effort to provide tele-counseling through Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) mode. The service is available for the\u00a0 sixth consecutive year on BSNL on 12501022.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0 QUESTION-ANSWER COLUMNS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

CBSE experts will answer queries of students through weekly question answer columns to be published in national newspapers like The Hindustan Times, Deccan Chronicle, Malayala Manorama and Amar Ujala during the month of February.

\n4.\u00a0\u00a0 ON-LINE COUNSELING: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Public can also log on to the CBSE website and Interact with Chairman on exam related issues. The Director (Academic) and Controller of Examinations, CBSE can also be contacted for On-line counseling on: director.edusat@rediffmail.com, mcsharma2007@rediffmail.com.<\/p>\n
