New Scheme of CBSE Board Examinations

1.1 Senior Secondary Schools

a) There will be no Class X Board Examination w.e.f. 2011 for students studying in CBSE’s Senior Secondary schools and who do not wish to move out of the CBSE system after Class X.

b) However, such students of Senior Secondary Schools who wish to move out of the CBSE system after Class X (Pre-University, Vocational course, Change of Board, etc.) will be required to take the Board’s External (pen and paper written/online) Examination.

Change in the Accountancy syllabus of Class XII

Based on the feedback received from the teachers, the Board has decided to make following changes in the Accountancy syllabus of Class XII for the Board Examination 2010.

The following sub-topics will be deleted from Unit 4 of the syllabus, namely
a)    Issue of debentures at a discount.
b)    Writing off of discount on issue of debentures.
c)    Sinking fund as one of the methods of Redemption of Debentures.

CBSE Compartment Examination Dates 2009

CBSE Compartment Result for all Regions is Declared.

You can get the result at www.cbseresults.nic.in

Unsuccessful students will be given another chance to appear in Compartmental Examination.

The First chance compartmental examination will commence on 18th  July, 2009. Candidates will route their requests through the Head of institution. The Heads of Institutions will ensure that the list of compartmental candidates reaches the respective regional office by 23rd of June, 2009.

Glimpses of CBSE class 12 Result 2009

A detailed analysis of CBSE result 2009 for class 12 has been made available at CBSE official website. As per the site total 637976 students were registered for class 12 examinations 2009 and out of that 627022 appeared in the examination. Only 576 students for Tibetans schools appeared in the exam out or 599 registered.

Total 77.40 boys and 85.94 girls passed the class 12 CBSE exam in 2009. It was 77.59 and 85.41 respectively in 2008 examination.

Highlights of CBSE 2009 Examinations

To strengthen the importance of ‘Hands On’ experience in realizing the concepts and construction of knowledge, the practical – skill based multiple choice question paper for Board’s class X Examination were based on list of experiments included in class X as well as class IX syllabus.

Equal weightage in terms of marks (10+10) was assigned to questions based on class IX experiments and class X experiments. Accordingly, the publication on assessments of practical skills in science was revised and made available to schools.

For the 12th year the second phase of CBSE counseling has been launched from 20th May upto 3rd June 2009, through TELE HELPLINE, IVRS AND CBSE WEBSITE. Psychological help is provided to the students during this time to cope with post result situations successfully.

Tele-Helpline: As many as 37 principals, trained counselors from CBSE affiliated govt. and private schools, psychologists and social scientists will operate this telephonic helpline individually from 8 AM-8 PM in four time slots.

Verification of Marks for CBSE 2009 Examination

Facility of verification of marks is available to all candidates. The candidates can apply for verification of marks in a manner that their applications reach the respective regional office(s) within 21 days of the declaration of result in case of Main Exam i.e. Exam held in March/April. However for Comptt Exam, i.e. Exam held in  July, the application must reach respective regional offices with in 15 days of the declaration of the result.

CBSE Exam Results 2009 by IVRS and SMS

The Result for CBSE Chennai, Ajmer and Panchkula regions is scheduled to be declared on May 20, 2009. This year CBSE has changed the time of declaration of the board results. The Result will be declared at 10:00 a.m. in the morning over internet as well as in the schools.

The results for CBSE Delhi, Guwahati and Allahabad regions is scheduled to be declared on May 22, 2009. The class 12 result for these regions will also be declared at 10:00 a.m. in the morning.

Course Curriculum and Evaluation Scheme of Introductory Information Technology

The course curriculum on “Introductory Information Technology” at Secondary Level is the Foundation course for all other courses relating to Computer Science/Multimedia and Web Technology/Informatics Practices/Information Technology Applications in classes XI & XII.

Keeping this in view, CBSE has renamed the course curriculum “Introductory Information Technology” at Secondary Level as “Foundation of Information Technology” from the session 2009-2010 for Class IX and 2010-2011 for Class X with necessary changes in the course content of the subject.
