then (x-a),(x+a),(x-b) are the factors of f(x)
therefore f(x)=(x-a)(x+a)(x-b)=x3-bx2-a2x+a2b
therefore x3-5x2-16x+80=x3-bx2-a2x+a2b
equating the coefficients we get a=+or-4 and b=5
