Hormones are part of the endocrine or ductless gland system.
They are called ductless glands because their products (hormones) are not transported by tubes, but by the circulatory system.
A hormone often has a target organ in another place in the body, and impacts that place by going through the blood system rather than being directly connected via a tube to that target organ.
