When food and digestive juices reach large intestine after various ongoing digestive process through the digestive system only excessive water absorption occurs in it. the bacteria that live in the colon use the material to produce some vitaminsand also turn some of the unabsorbed carbohydrates into co_{2 gas.}The remaining matter is propelled towards the rectum. Food that cannot be digested by the human body contain high amount of dietry fiber which is resistant to hydrolysis and passed out .
