(a) In the field of optics, transparency is the physical property of allowing light to pass through a material without being scattered. so, the medium showing the property of transparency are called transparent mediums . A transparent medium not only allows the transport of light but allows the image formation. eg Clear glass
A translucent medium only allows the transport of light. The light may pass through the material but the image formation on the other side is not visible. eg Frosted glass
(b) The image that can be obtained on a sceen is called real image. It is always inverted. The most common example is image formed in a cinema hall.
The image that cannot be obtained on a screen is called virtual image.It may be erect or inverted. The image formed in a plane mirror is virtual.
