Ans. The prairies are flat and very fertile, with rich black soil. Flat land is good for farming. The fertile prairie areas are intensity cultivated. Farmers produce enough wheat for the country and also for exporting. This is why prairies is called the wheat basket of the world.

The climate of prairie is the most suitable for the cultivation of wheat. Therefore the wheat production is very large here. Therefore, only USA exports the wheat mostly. Therefore, the prairie is known as Wheat Basket of the world.
