The Board has extended the concept of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in class IX with effect from October 2009 to be continued in class X for the year 2010-11 onwards.

For this purpose syllabus has been split up over two terms. Each term will have two formative tests of 10% weightage each and one summative test of weightage 20% and 40 % respectively.

Total 40% of syllabus will be covered in first term in form of two formative assessments and one summative assessment.

The rest 60% of the syllabus will be taken in second term in form of two formative and one summative assessment.

CCE is implemented in second term of class 9 this year. The first examination under the new CCE scheme will be conducted in March 2010 for class 9.

Other details about CCE Scheme are available at www.myCBSEguide.com under syllabus and sample papers section.

  2. ACTUALLY……………I AGREE WITH THIS KIND OF SYSTEM………………IT GIVES US LOTS OF NJOYMENT…….NO BURDEN OF STUDIES AT ALL………TCHRS R VERY MUCH FRNDLY WIT ALL OF US……..HANDS OFF 2 CBSE……….

  3. Teachers could pursue students to be more well-mannered .

Teacher- Parent communication may ensure student to be more

    vigil.

  4. The drawbacks of the system are just emerging. Students with a higher score but have appeared for the Board exam and not the CCE based evaluation are being subject to harassment and not being given admission in Pune CBSE schools.

  5. The CCE question papers were much easier than those that were given to the students appearing for the board exams.

The CCE question papers were designed to be easy by the school teachers so as to get a better ranking for the school.
