Install NowCCE Syllabus for class 10 English Language and Literature (Course B) for session 2010-2011 prescribed for First Term (April 2010 to September 2010) and Second Term (October 2010 to March 2011) issued by CBSE, New Delhi. The complete syllabus is divided into four sections i.e. Reading, Writing, Grammar and Literature. Reading, writing and grammar section has equal weightage of 15 marks whereas literature section carries 35 marks. Grammar items mentioned in the syllabus will be taught and assessed formatively over a period of time. There will be no division of syllabus for Grammar in the summative assessments for the two terms.
First Term (April 2010 to September 2010) =>
There will be TWO FORMATIVE and ONE SUMMATIVE test in first term. Formative assessments (F1 and F2) will carry total 20 marks (10 marks each) and Summative assessment (S1) will carry 20 Marks.
Thus CCE first term will carry overall 40 Marks (10+10+20=40).
There will be total 17 Questions for 80 marks in First Term Summative Assessment (S1). After marking the answers, it will be reduced to 20 marks. (Marks obtained will be divided by 4).
Second Term (October 2010 to March 2011) =>
There will be TWO FORMATIVE and ONE SUMMATIVE test in second term. Formative assessments (F3 and F4) will carry total 20 marks (10 marks each) and Summative assessment (S2) will carry 40 Marks.
Thus CCE second term will carry overall 60 Marks (10+10+40=60).
There will be total 17 Questions for 80 marks in Second Term Summative Assessment (S2). After marking the answers, it will be reduced to 40 marks. (Marks obtained will be divided by 2).
CBSE has divided Text book chapters, Grammar portion, Writing section and Reading comprehensive in two terms. Separated division is given for Formative assessments and summative assessments.

oh!!! cce is not too intresting. there is so much to do . indeed there’s no eneough time to read or study for the second term. we are always burdened with assisments, homeworks, projects, powerpoint presntations,seminars,class tests and much more………………. were’s the time to study!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

actually, it’s good for intelligent students and bad for weaker one

i believe cce pattern should have some changes, children are tired of attempting all the rubbish projects which are given unecessarily!
it was rather better to have cbse board exams, which atleast had a great impact on students attention, the authoroties are just adopting the foriegn pattern which would vanish the education from the country! cce should have a look at the functioning and make some desired changes!
CCE is good but we have to do a lot of project work we have to spend our whole day on these projects but in another way cce is good because it makes our other work easier like our lab manual

CCE EK AACHA SYSTEM HAI PER TAB JAB WO COMPLETELY FOLLOW KIYA JAY.JITNE BHI SCHOOLS HAI UN SAB ME YE SYSTEM COMPLETELY FOLLOW NAHI HO RAHA.BAS DIKHANE KE LIYE HO RAHA HAI.IS SYSTEM ME PROJECTS AUR ASSIGNMENTS KE ALAWA BHI KUCH HAI BEHAVIOUR,TALENT MAGAR KOI BHI TEACHER IN POINTS PE DHYAN NAHI DETA.
